They say the flagship smartphone spec wars have finally come to an end, and while Google did talk a little about screen, processor, RAM, camera or battery numbers concerning thePixel and Pixel XL yesterday, it spent way more time hyping upthe user experience,    software enhancements,    unique add-ons like the Google Assistant, or 24/7 customer care.
One trendy feature Mountain View however neglected to bake into its costliest, arguably greatest phones yet is water resistance, although unofficially, the two are confirmed to boast IP53 certification.
That’s clearly nowhere near as impressive as theiPhone 7’s IP67 rating, but it does cover partial dust protection and keeps you safe in the rain, ensuring “water falling as a spray at any angle up to 60° from the vertical shall have no harmful effect.” Also, you know, at least you still have your 3.5mm headphone jacks.
Meanwhile, if you’re really excited about the “Really Blue” Pixel and Pixel XL options currently available as US exclusives, you should remain patient internationally, as expansions to other markets are only a matter of time. “Quite” some time, unfortunately, with the snazzy models already listed as out of stock on Google’s American e-store. “Very” sad!
Finally, if there’s anything left in your bank accounts after spending small fortunes on these bad boys, signing up to a $99 device protection plan is a must. The ex-    Nexus Protect programhas your back for up to 2 incidents of accidental damage over 2 years, plus any and all hardware malfunctions occurring through no fault of the owner during the same timeframe.
